I would love to collaborate with a local Shelby County researcher to explore this. I created Josiah's memorial in Find A Grave... My father is a DNA match, per Ancestry ThruLines, with 8 descendants of Josiah Williams (1788-1848) and 1 descendant of Reece Williams (1801-1850), hypothesized brothers of Daniel. I do know that ThruLines can distort results if trees are inaccurate... This is my current research project and I will write a post on my own blog over the next few months.
